DESCRIPTION:https://aspergersvic.org.au/event-2934473\n\nYoung Adults Peer Group Meeting \n  "ADAPTING TO OUR ENVIRONMENT"\n  Thursday\, 24th May 2018\n  \n\n  Come along and join us for a relaxing get together with young adults for a peer discussion about the topic of adapting to our environment.  The group will be talking about how to manage things like light\, noise and crowds etc.  \n\n      * This event is for Young Adults with Aspergers/ASD1 who are AV members\, independently capable and between the ages of 18-35 years (18 yr olds no longer attending secondary school).  \n\n      * It is fine for parent/friend to drop off attendees\, however only the Young Adult is comes into the meeting room. It is a parent/carer-free zone to empower them to build their independence skills.   \n\n                 Time:         7:30 - 9:30 pm - Doors open for registration at 7:10 pm and close at 10 pm.\n       \n                  Topic:         "Adapting to our Environment"           \n\n  What Happens on the Night?\n\n      * Attendees arrive and check in at the door.  Doors will be open from 7.10 pm.\n\n        * Aspergers Victoria volunteers with lived experience run the all meetings and will welcome you and answer any question you may have (especially if you're new).  \n\n\n        * At 7.30 the group will gather for the discussion.  \n\n        * At around 9 p.m.\, the group will finish up their session and enjoy some refreshments together (e.g. cup of tea/coffee/water and biscuits).\n\n        * Around 9:30 p.m. the meeting packs up and everyone heads home soon after. \n\n  This group is for Aspergers Victoria members only. However you are welcome to attend one meeting to try before joining.
