Adults Hub
- Online Group Meeting
About the Adults Group
Our Adults Group is for older members of the Aspergers autistic community and those with other similar neurodivergent profiles. It is more suitable for those who are aged 35 years and over, although younger adults are welcome to join in. (Young adults may prefer to attend our Young Adults group meetings as well as or instead of this group.)
Following some strong discussion last month about how family members responded to the AS diagnosis, this month we will discuss "Family Dynamics". Some of us have strong supportive relationships with other family members, in particular parents and siblings. Others have experienced rejection, denial and hostility both prior to and after receiving a diagnosis of Aspergers or autism. On the night, we will discuss both good and bad experiences of family dynamics. Hopefully for those in negative situations, the group will be able to provide some ways of moving forward, either to improve the situation or at least better cope with it.
