Teens Hub - Games Night

About our Group

Our Teens Group is for teens with Aspergers, autistic teens, and those with a similar neurodivergent profile to meet and hang out to play games or chat while their parents / carers meet in another room at the same venue to chat, provide support and share ideas and advice.

After a long break, we're going back to Power Neighbourhood House in Ashwood for a relaxed games night.

  • Teens will be supervised by our Teens Mentors.
  • In another room at the same venue, parents will be met by our Parents Group Leader to chat and exchange experiences.

The Teens Team:

  • Cal T, Cal B, Jack D, Sunny - Volunteer Mentors

All AV volunteer group leaders share the lived experience of their group participants and welcome new attendees. All AV volunteers have a Working with Children Check.

Each teen must be accompanied by one parent or carer.

A parent or carer must remain on site for the duration of the event and is responsible for any costs incurred by their teen.

We understand that another parent or family member may wish to join the event, however due to venue capacity limits, we can only accommodate one adult per registered teen, and we are unable to accommodate additional adults on the night.

Cost: $10 for AV members, $15 for non-members. FREE for +Groups membership holders.

Become an AV member today to access discounted tickets for groups and events, members-only programs and interest groups, and to support all the wonderful work our volunteers and staff team do for our community.

If you are attending an AV group for the first time, you are welcome to register for free using our first-time attendee ticket. Please email our AV admin team to access this.

If cost is a barrier, please contact Jenni.

Why do I need to register?

All attendees must register before attending an AV activity.

For in-person events, this allows us to ensure that we have enough volunteers attending on the night to support the group, and to ensure that the venue can safely accommodate all attendees.

In the event that the activity is cancelled or transferred to an online meeting, we will only be able to let you know if you have registered.

What can I do if there are no remaining spaces?

If there are currently no spaces available, this means that the activity is fully booked and no further attendees can register at the moment.

If you are interested in attending and would like to be notified if a space becomes available, please click "Join Waitlist" to add your name to the waitlist. In the event that a space becomes available, we will email those on the waitlist to let them know.

How do I register myself and my teen?

Please register using the name of the parent or carer attending.

Please add your teen's details further down in the registration form.

The registration form will ask you for the name and age of your teen. It will also ask you for the contact phone number of the parent or carer attending with the teen.

If you need assistance or if you have more than one teen attending, please contact our AV admin team.

When your registration is complete, you will receive an event registration confirmation email. This will contain a QR code which you will need to present either as a printout or as an image on your smart phone to access the event.

What can I expect when I attend an AV COVIDSafe event?

AV is closely following the COVID-19 requirements outlined by the Victorian Government and our in-person events have changed to comply with these.

Restrictions in Victoria have changed as of 19 November 2021, and we recommend reading this information sheet issued by the Victorian Government. It outlines the current DHHS requirements at venues for attendees, including checking in, vaccination, distancing, and masks.

Who can I contact if I have questions or need assistance?

If you have questions about the event, about AV, or need assistance with registering, please contact our AV admin team: call 0480 385 710 or email us.

Please note that our email inbox is not monitored outside business hours.
