We are currently recruiting two roles: 

Programs Project Manager 

     Develop innovative programs to empower Aspergers people

     A chance to contribute to new employment initiatives to shape autistic futures

     Part-time role with flexible hours and days of work, Melbourne-based

Aspergers Victoria (AV) is the peak body of the Aspergers/ASD1 community. Since 1991 we have provided empowering support using a strengths-based and lived experience approach. Our strategy focuses on delivering education, interest groups, advocacy and employment pathways for Aspergers/ASD1 and their community. AV is funded through membership, philanthropy and Government. Our board and volunteers have a unique level of understanding through lived experience. This role reports to our General Manager (GM). 

        Key responsibilities include:

     Development, planning and roll out of AV’s innovative employment Programs being experiential learning work experience program, job coaching and associated training

     Overarching project management to deliver evidence based program outcomes

     Working with GM to recruit, train and support suitable programs staff and partnerships

     Sourcing appropriate employers to provide work placements and build networks

     Organising training/education for Aspergers, their families, schools and employers 

     Include Aspergers/ASD1 in the co-design, together with research

     Preparing reports to funding bodies, schools, and presentations to publish in journals. 

       The successful candidate will have a combination of the following:

     Strength-based communication, strongorganisation and collaboration skills

     Self–starter capable of working autonomously and with a diverse range of stakeholders

     Demonstrated success in organising programs and outcomes

     Genuinely supportive of people with neurodiverse styles including Aspergers with lived experience of Aspergers/ASD1 valued

     Interested in making a difference

     Note: some meetings are after hours and required a current working with children check and police check.

General Manager – Aspergers Victoria

Aspergers Victoria (AV) is the peak body of the Aspergers/ASD1 community. Since 1991 we have provided empowering support using a strengths-based approach. Our strategy focuses on delivering education, interest groups, advocacy and employment pathways for Aspergers/ASD1 and our community. AV is funded through membership, philanthropy and Government. Our board and volunteers have a unique level of understanding, gained through lived experience.

In 2018 we developed a new strategic plan which is underway and we are now seeking a General Manager to take responsibility for the execution of the three functional areas of Business Development, Finance & Administration and Programs (led by a Programs Project Manager). This role will be the main paid executive position at AV, reporting to the Board of Directors.

Key responsibilities include:

●  Implement the strategic plan as directed by the Board

●  Oversee the business development and marketing functions

●  Liaise with the Programs Project Manager to ensure effective programs implementation and outcomes

●  Build and maintain the reputation, integrity and profile of AV

●  Prudently oversee AV financial and non-financial resources, risk and compliance

●  Deliver professional, empowering and consistent leadership across the organisation

●  Be responsible for effective recruitment, staff retention, management and any professional development of staff and volunteers

●  Learn, understand and apply the theory and community information related to Aspergers in strategy, program execution and outcome measures 

About you: The successful candidate will have a combination of the following:

●  Strength-based communication, organisation and collaboration skills

●  Proven leadership and staff management skills

●  Self–starter capable of working autonomously, and capable of working with a diverse range of stakeholders

●  Demonstrated success dealing with senior stakeholders, ideally including government and partners

●  Track record in raising revenue through grants, fundraising or other activities and delivering reported outcomes to meet requirements

●  Genuinely supportive of people with neurodiverse styles including Aspergers with lived experience of Aspergers/ASD1 valued

Some meetings after hours will be required including Board meetings. A current working with children check and police check will be required.
