Are you an adult aged 18 years or older who has Aspergers, is autistic, or who has another similar neurodivergent profile? Are you looking for a group of peers who share your experience who you can meet, chat to, exchange stories, advice, and experiences, and connect with? If you answered "Yes" to all of these, we would love to see you at our new LGBTQIA+ peer support group! Who is this group for? Our LGBTQIA+ Group is for individuals aged 18 and older who are peers of the autistic community AND the LGBTQIA+ community. We welcome adults at all stages of the assessment / diagnostic journey, including self-diagnosed. As this is a parent/carer-free zone, we invite any parents or carers of attendees to join our separate Parents & Carers Group. If you are a peer of the group as well as being a parent, you are of course most welcome to attend individually. Please note that our peer support groups are for peers only and attendees do need to be able to participate independently in the activity without support from a parent, carer, or support worker. When does this group meet? The first group meeting has been scheduled and you can find more information including the date, time, and registration link below. As this is a new group, we are still finalising the regular meeting schedule. How can I register for the next group meeting? To make sure we contact you when the details of the first group meeting are finalised, please add your name to our AV mailing list. Visit the Join our AV Mailing List page, enter your first name and your email address, tick "Peer Support Groups - LGBTQIA+" as an area of interest, as well as any other topics you're interested in, and we'll include you in future emails. If you would like more information, please email our AV admin team. |
