AV Career Network – Empowering Neurodivergent Professionals

The AV Career Network is a dedicated support network designed to empower neurodivergent professionals, those with career transitionary goals, and job seekers by providing targeted resources, peer connections, and expert-led sessions. Whether you are navigating a career transition, seeking professional growth, or looking for a supportive community to share experiences, the AV Career Network offers structured and meaningful opportunities to help you succeed.

In 2025, we have expanded our offerings to include three distinct support groups, ensuring that individuals receive tailored guidance based on their unique needs. Across these groups, we are hosting 26 events, nearly doubling our previous year’s sessions, to better serve and support our community.

Career Network Offerings Overview

The AV Career Network now includes three key pillars:

1️⃣ The Career Network (Core Speaker Series & Discussions) – For professionals, career transitioners, and those with some career experience.
2️⃣ The Job Seeker Network – For neurodivergent individuals actively looking for work or transitioning into employment.
3️⃣ Touchstone Meetings – Open discussion spaces for career-related challenges, experiences, and strategies.

Each of these offerings is designed to provide targeted support, practical strategies, and community engagement opportunities. Below is a detailed breakdown of each group and what participants can expect.

The Career Network (Core Speaker Series & Discussions)

The Career Network is our flagship offering, designed for neurodivergent professionals who are currently employed, have had prior professional experience, or are navigating career transitions. This group provides structured learning opportunities through expert-led speaker sessions, networking, and discussions on workplace inclusion, career growth, and industry trends.

What to Expect:

  • Monthly Speaker Events: On the first Thursday of every month, we host an expert-led session covering key professional development topics.
  • Expert Speakers: Industry leaders, neurodivergent professionals, and advocates provide insights on career growth, personal branding, entrepreneurship, and industry trends.
  • Actionable Strategies: Each session includes practical takeaways that participants can immediately apply to their professional lives.
  • Community Engagement: A space for neurodivergent professionals to connect, share experiences, and build their networks.

Who Is This For?

  • Neurodivergent professionals currently employed or with prior work experience.
  • Individuals navigating career changes or looking for strategies to advance in their field.

Touchstone Meetings - Group Topic & Discussion

The Peer Support Touchstone Meetings provide a relaxed, open-discussion format where participants can share career experiences, challenges, and strategies in a judgment-free space. These meetings complement the structured speaker series and job seeker sessions by offering a space for deeper peer connections and ongoing support.

What to Expect:

  • Bimonthly Discussion Sessions: Held every two months, offering opportunities to check in, reflect, and support one another.
  • Less structured, Participant-Led Conversations: Topics are guided by the interests and needs of attendees.
  • Safe & Inclusive Environment: A non-judgmental space to discuss workplace experiences, neurodivergent challenges, and career strategies.

Who Is This For?

  • Individuals looking for peer-led conversations and shared experiences.
  • Professionals or job seekers seeking an ongoing support network.
  • Those who may not need structured training but benefit from open discussions with others facing similar challenges.

     The Job Seeker Network

The Job Seeker Network is a newly developed support group dedicated to neurodivergent individuals actively seeking employment or transitioning into the workforce. This group provides targeted job search strategies, resume and interview preparation, and industry-specific insights to improve employment outcomes.

    What to Expect:

    • Practical Job Search Workshops: Hands-on sessions covering resume writing, interview techniques, and application processes.
    • Employer Insights & Industry Guidance: Learn from professionals and recruiters about what employers are looking for in candidates.
    • Peer & Mentor Support: A collaborative environment where members can share job search experiences, challenges, and advice.
    • NDIS and Employment Pathways: Guidance on navigating employment support services, including NDIS funding for job coaching.

    Who Is This For?

    • Neurodivergent individuals looking for employment or re-entering the workforce.
    • Those seeking guidance on how to tailor applications to highlight their strengths.
    • Job seekers interested in understanding workplace accommodations and inclusive hiring practices.
