Teens Hub - Bowling Night

About our Group

Our Teens group is for teens with Aspergers, autistic teens, and those with a similar neurodivergent profile to meet and hang out to play games or chat while their parents / carers meet in another room at the same venue to chat, provide support and share ideas and advice.

In March, we're planning to go bowling at Healthways Recreation Centre in Mont Albert. This is the rescheduled event from August 2021, and we are really hoping this can go ahead so we can all see each other and have a fantastic night.

  • Teens will be supervised by our Teens Mentors.
  • In another room at the same venue, parents will be met by our Parents Group Leader to chat and exchange experiences.

The Teens Team:

All AV volunteer group leaders share the lived experience of their group participants and welcome new attendees. All AV volunteers have a Working with Children Check.

Each teen must be accompanied by one parent or carer.

A parent or carer must remain on site for the duration of the event and is responsible for any costs incurred by their teen.

We understand that another parent or family member may wish to join the event, however due to venue capacity limits, we can only accommodate one adult per registered teen, and we are unable to accommodate additional adults on the night.

Cost: $36 for AV members, $40 for non-members.

Become an AV member today to access discounted tickets for groups and events, members-only programs and interest groups, and to support all the wonderful work our volunteers and staff team do for our community.

If you are attending an AV group for the first time, you are welcome to register using our first-time attendee ticket so that the Group Leaders know you're new and can welcome you.

If cost is a barrier, please contact Jenni.

Do I need to register?

All attendees to AV's online and in-person groups and events must register before attending. For Zoom meetings, you need to register to access the Zoom details.

For in-person meetings, anyone wishing to attend must register before attending due to DHHS and venue requirements. Please register if you would like to attend to ensure you don't miss out. If the event is fully booked, please add your name to the waiting list, as occasionally spaces become available closer to the date due to a cancellation.

If there are no spaces available, you can still add your name to the waiting list so that if a space becomes available, we will have your details and can let you know.

How do I register myself and my teen?

Please register using the name of the parent or carer attending.

Please add your teen's details in the registration form.

The registration form will ask you for the name and age of your teen. It will also ask you for the contact phone number of the parent or carer attending with the teen.

If you need assistance or if you have more than one teen attending, please contact our AV admin team.

When your registration is complete, you will receive an event registration confirmation email. This will contain a QR code which you will need to present either as a printout or as an image on your smart phone to access the event.

Restrictions in Victoria have changed as of 19 November 2021, and we recommend reading this information sheet issued by the Victorian Government. It outlines the current DHHS requirements at venues for attendees, including checking in, vaccination, distancing, and masks.
