HYBRID EVENT
Registration for the In-Person Event in Balwyn
Our Young Adults group is a great place for Aspergers-autistic adults or those with a similar neurodiverse profile aged 18 years - 35 years (approx.) to meet, chat, and play games with no social pressure. As this is a parent/carer-free zone, we invite any parents or carers to attend our separate Parents & Carers group.
This session will be facilitated by our Young Adults team:
- Matt, Cal, Sunny, Eleanor & Tim - Volunteer Mentors
- Lyndel - Young Adults Co-Facilitator
All AV volunteer group leaders share the lived experience of their group participants and welcome new attendees. All AV group leaders have a Working with Children Check.
HYBRID EVENT INFORMATION
In April, we are trying something brand new: a hybrid event!
We will have two meetings running at the same time on the same night, but in different formats:
- an online event via Zoom
- an in-person event at a community centre in Balwyn
These events will run at the same time as separate events. Our YA team hope to be able to connect the two if possible, however as this is the first time AV has run a hybrid event, this may or may not work out on the night.
How do I register for the right event?
Do I need to register?
All attendees to AV's online and in-person groups and events must register before attending. For Zoom meetings, you need to register to access the Zoom details. For in-person meetings, registration is required due to DHHS COVID contact tracing and venue capacity limits.
Cost to attend this in-person event: $10 for AV members, $15 for non-members. If you are attending an AV group for the first time, you are welcome to attend for free. Please email admin@aspergersvic.org.au to access this.

What can I expect when I attend an AV COVIDSafe event?
AV is closely following DHHS COVID-19 requirements and our in-person events have changed to comply with these. We encourage you to read our AV COVIDSafe policy before you attend in-person events at AV in 2021. This includes important information about our QR code check-in system and what you need to bring with you to an event. As the venue capacity is reduced and spaces are limited, please register if you would like to attend to ensure you don't miss out.
Please note that DHHS advice may change and we will do our best to communicate any changes in AV COVID-19 policy to our community.
You are welcome to bring a board game or card game if you would like to.
You are also welcome to bring your own snacks or drinks if you would like to as current COVID restrictions mean that we are not able to provide catering, and any refreshments you bring must not be shared.
