Young Adults Hub - Games & Social Night
Updated 17 August 2021: In-Person Meeting Cancelled
Due to the update in DHHS COVID restrictions for the Melbourne area announced in the leadup to this event, the Group Leaders and the AV team have had to cancel this planned in-person meeting. We have set up an online meeting instead, which will take place at the same time. If you would like to attend the online meeting, please register via our website.
We understand that many within our community are very keen to return to in-person meetings, and we'll do our best to make this happen as soon as DHHS COVID restrictions and planning time allow this. Registrations for the Zoom group meeting are now open via our website and our Group Leaders are looking forward to seeing you online.
About the Group
Our Young Adults group is a great place for Aspergers, autistic and other similar neurodiverse profiles adults aged 18 years - 35 years (approx.) to meet, chat, and play games with no social pressure. As this is a parent/carer-free zone, we invite any parents or carers to attend our separate Parents & Carers group.
The session is facilitated by the Young Adult team:
- Matt, Cal, Sunny, Eleanor & Tim - YA Mentors
- Lyndel Kennedy - Young Adults Co-Facilitator
All AV volunteer group leaders share the lived experience of their group participants and welcome new attendees. All AV group leaders have a Working with Children Check.

What can I expect when I attend an AV COVIDSafe event?
AV is closely following DHHS COVID-19 requirements and our in-person events have changed to comply with these. We encourage you to read ourAV COVIDSafe planbefore you attend in-person events at AV in 2021. This includes important information about our QR code registration system and what you need to bring with you to an event. As the venue capacity is reduced and spaces are limited, please register if you would like to attend to ensure you don't miss out.
Due to current DHHS restrictions, we may not be able to provide refreshments at this event. You are most welcome to bring your own snack and drink to enjoy, however please be aware that these are not able to be shared.
Please note that DHHS advice may change and we will do our best to communicate any changes in AV COVID-19 policy to our community.
If you have questions about registration, our COVIDSafe policy or would like more information, please contact Jenni (AV Admin): admin@aspergersvic.org.au
