What is the AV Passion Project Group?

The group is a chance to focus on your passion project or explore your special interest alongside others who are doing the same. This approach is sometimes referred to as body doubling or parallel play. You are also welcome to attend to observe passions and topics that you are interested in.

Who is this group for?

This is a space specifically designed for autistic/neurodiverse folks and for those who are body doubling, there is zero pressure to socialise.

Keen to wear your headphones? Go for it! This is your time. We respect and aim to accommodate individual needs and encourage you to make yourself as comfy as possible while you’re here.

To our community of parents and caregivers, we have a support group for you, too! Find out more about our parents and carer's group here.

What can I do in /during the session?

Bring your passion project, special interest or an activity you'd like to do that can be done independently, please make sure what you bring:

  • Can be transported without assistance (we recommend something that can fit within an average backpack).
  • Is mindful of other participants space and sensory needs. For example, your activity does not produce so much noise that it disrupts others.
  • Can be completely cleaned up and packed away by the end of the session without assistance.

If you are unsure of what you'd like to bring, we will provide some drawing materials as an alternative activity.
