AspieLand Moderated Minecraft

Term 1 2022 - Group 1

About AspieLand

AspieLand has been developed and co-designed with our Aspie teens and Aspergers Victoria families. It's back for 2022, and we're excited to share the details of our Term 1 program. Our Minecraft Moderators are older teens from our Aspergers community we employ as peers to help guide and support participants to build, remind what behaviour is appropriate and most importantly, have fun! If you haven't tried AspieLand before, we recommend joining one of our January Holiday Programs to see if this is something you'd like to do more of! Find out more about Week 1 and Week 2 of the AspieLand January Holiday Program.

Available Sessions

In Term 1 2022, we will have two separate groups running, taking place in two distinct worlds.

Both groups will start in the week starting Monday 7 February, and both groups will finish in the week starting Monday 28 March.

Group 1 will be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4pm to 6pm each day. This is the registration page for Group 1.

Group 2 will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4pm to 6pm each day. Click here to register for Group 2.

Both groups will have a limit of 20 players per group.

NB: there will be no Minecraft session on Monday 14 March due to the Labour Day public holiday.

Cost

The AspieLand Term 1 2022 Program - Group 1 is $247 per player for 15 x two-hour moderated sessions. That's just $8.25 per hour!

If cost is a barrier, please talk to Jenni: admin@aspergersvic.org.au

Who can attend?

  • Children and teens aged 10-17 years
  • Beginners, intermediate and advanced players
  • Players who hold a current AV membership.
If you are not yet an AV member, sign up today to access this program and so much more, including our D&D programs, our Teens Work Know How Program, and member discounts for all of our groups and events!

Pre-program Player and Parent/Carer Briefing

From 2022, all of our Minecraft and under 18 D&D sessions will have a pre-program briefing. For the Term 1 2022 Program (Group 1 and Group 2), this session will take place at 7pm on Tuesday 1 February via Zoom. We will talk about the AspieLand guidelines and rules to help players and parents/carers have a clear understanding of what AspieLand is like and what behaviour is acceptable in AspieLand. Each registered player will need to attend this session with a parent/carer. The session will be recorded so that players who join after this date can also watch it. The Zoom link will be provided in your registration confirmation email.

I have questions about AspieLand - who can I ask?

We've noticed that many families have similar questions about AspieLand, so we’ve put together some documents to help players and their families find answers quickly. The AspieLand FAQ, AspieLand Tech Support Guide, and AspieLand Rules (updated version as of December 2021) are all available on the AspieLand page of the AV website. We encourage you to read through these with your player before registering.

Who can I contact for help if I can't find the answer to my question?

If you can’t find the answer to your question, you’re most welcome to contact our admin team for assistance: please call 0480 385 710, or email admin@aspergersvic.org.au
